The Barbaza Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) marked a pivotal moment in 1997 when it purchased a property in Cubay, Barbaza, Antique. This acquisition allowed the cooperative to establish its Main Office, which was officially inaugurated on August 3, 1997. The new headquarters became a hub of growth and innovation, providing a central location for members to access services and programs. This development symbolized Barbaza MPC’s dedication to advancing its mission of empowering communities and fostering economic development.
As part of its commitment to reaching more members, Barbaza MPC expanded its operations by establishing branches in key towns across Antique, including Sibalom, San Jose, Lauaan, Bugasong, Patnongon, Hamtic, San Remegio, and Valderrama. These branches allowed the cooperative to bring its services closer to its members, ensuring that people in both rural and urban areas could benefit from its offerings. This expansion demonstrated Barbaza MPC’s resolve to promote inclusivity and accessibility throughout the province.


In its pursuit of innovation, Barbaza MPC launched the Barbaza Coop Cable TV (CATV) project on January 18, 1998. This groundbreaking initiative reflected the cooperative’s forward-thinking approach, providing members with access to reliable cable TV services. Initially serving the local community, Coop Cable TV quickly became a trusted source of information and entertainment. By diversifying its services, Barbaza MPC showcased its readiness to adapt to changing times and address the needs of its members in meaningful ways.
To stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape, Barbaza MPC now offers Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology as part of its Coop Cable TV services. This state-of-the-art technology delivers ultra-fast internet connectivity directly to homes, ensuring members have access to seamless streaming, remote work capabilities, and online learning resources. In addition, the cooperative is laying the groundwork for the introduction of IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) services, which will revolutionize how members access and enjoy television content.
